Candy!

For the second year in a row we decided to head to Lakeway for their July 4th parade, and it did not disappoint. Clark saw all sorts of things he's never dreamed of (bikes, puppies, fire trucks), and once again Aurora probably got more candy than she gets at Halloween.

What better way to celebrate America's birthday?! Chuck used to drive these military vehicles. How fun would it be to drive them through a parade giving kids the thumbs up?

Afterwards Chuck took Aurora to the movies and later she got to run through the sprinkler for awhile. Then Grandma & Grandpa came over and Aurora stayed up to watch fireworks from our balcony. The fireworks were better than usual and it was definitely worth staying up late.

By 9:30 she'd accidentally dropped a flip flop off the balcony and she was done. Today is one of those rare days where my work is closed but daycare is open for business. I don't usually drop off the kids, and it's a good thing because Clark did not want me to leave him!!! Sweet, sweet boy. On the agenda: coffee, relaxing, pedicure, lunch date with the hubs, shopping, and maybe (just maybe) I'll go running. I might also sneak some of Aurora's candy. We'll see.

Looks like ya'll had a great family holiday together! YEEHAA!

The Racine lakefront fireworks were spectacular as we were positioned right under the fireworks shot from both the beach & breakwater.

However, the fireworks on the Milwaukee lakefront July 3 quickly became engulfed in FOG. The first fireworks in the show simply looked surreal, then all we some were colorful glow from the fog during the hour long display.

The band & food at the Milwaukee War Memorial were the highlights of the program. There was a mother/daughter combo, that looked like AMBER & AURORA, that danced to almost every song. A few other kids soon joined them, plus a few moms. The mom later boosted her daughter on her shoulders as she danced. So, Amber & Aurora were with us in spirit, LOL!

We had such a good seat for the fireworks, though it was definitely too bad about Aurora's shoe...
