On Friday we drove down to San Antonio and checked in to a hotel right along the Riverwalk.
The El Tropicano has a resident toucan, and judging from how close he came to us, I'd say he liked Aurora just about as much as she liked him!
We had a lot more animal encounters during our day at SeaWorld.
And yes, we sat in the splash zone!
Aurora also rode on her first roller coaster! Not surprisingly, it was very tame and shamu-themed. She was just barely tall enough to ride, and apparently it was one of her favorite parts of the trip.
One of her least favorite moments came when we were getting her to pose for a picture the Rain Forest Cafe. We were telling her how scared she was of the tiger the last time we were there, so she was already shaking when he suddenly came to life and RAWRed at her! I honestly have never seen a human so terrified - she screamed at the top of her lungs and shouted "MOMMY, RUN!!!" while we (and everyone within ear shot) just about fell over laughing. I wish I'd gotten video.

Love the photo of Aurora with the toucan, priceless, LOL! Great that you found so many things for her to do in San Antonio, including Seaworld.
My parents were always afraid to let me ride on roller coasters, including a parachute drop ride, which probably explains why I have total fear of such rides. Plus, I can easily get motion sickness.
I wonder how the tiger and Grandma Nancy, the "CatLady", would interact?
Poor Aurora, getting so scared. Hopefully the friendly toucan and other fun things made up for it. That 35 number still just doesn't seem right. It didn't to the lottery, either - our ticket didn't win!
Is SeaWorld in San Antonio new? We don't recall it being there when we visited.
I just looked on wikipedia, and it says it opened in 1988. You'll have to make a stop next time you're in town - they have penguins!
Visiting the penguins with Aurora sounds like an awesome possibility!
Is Aurora looking forward to the debut of Happy Feet 2? We can't wait to see it, LOL! Aurora has such great taste in movies!

Sounds like a great week end. Life still goes on after 35. You have a long ways to go to catch up with me, agewise.
