First, the fun news: Aurora weighs a whopping 11 lbs 6 oz, which puts her in the 75th percentile for weight. She’s only in the 25th percentile for height, though I kind of think she was scrunching up when they measured her... regardless, what a little chunker! Dr. Sood did a thorough examination and said Aurora is gorgeous and doing great.
And now for the bad news: vaccinations. They gave her some Tylenol first, then an oral Rotavirus vaccine and 3 combination shots which included: Hep B, Tdap, Hib, Pneumococcal Conjugate, and IPV. I have no idea what most of these are, but they’ve all been marked accordingly on her immunization record.
I took some pictures before, during, and after the shots. It does look as though there’s some sort of medieval baby torture going on, but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly she recovered and how well she’s doing now. Hopefully she won’t get a fever or any other yucky side-effects as the day goes on.

Don't worry about the height. She could go through a growth spurt and end up being tall. However, since there are short people on both sides of the family, she may not. It doesn't matter much if she is not very tall since she's a girl. What matters is that she is robust and healthy, and that she is. Nancy
I say she was scrunching. Put a baby on a paper covered hospital bed, mark where the head is with a pen quickly, then mark where the feet are...how scientific is that? At Rora's age, just another 3/4 an inch puts her in the 75% bracket. Once with Preston he scrunched up and was like 50% in height with the nurse, when the doctor saw that, she did the test again herself and he was back up to his usual 98%. She looks perfectly proportioned in the pics.
I see from the pictures that Chuck gets to stretch Rora out, hold her down super tight for the 4 rounds of shots, and when she is totally beyond mad and crying, Amber gets her back for a quick snack and she is happy again. Sounds about right.
Hope little Rora is feeling ok after those horrible shots! I am not looking forward for Zeland's 2 month appointment. We are going to do an alternative shot schedule so he won't get as many but I am sure it will still not be very fun.

No, she'll be measured again at her 4-month appointment. It's hard to measure a baby when they don't know what's going on. Not only are they on a paper-lined table being man-handled by a stranger, but they're cold and naked!
Sometimes in the morning when she streeeeetches out, she is super long. This morning she woke up at 7am (after sleeping for 8-hours straight) and stretched out in every direction for like 5-minutes!
