TGIF

Today was "Take our Sons and Daughters to Work" day at LIVESTRONG HQ. It was my intention to bring both kiddos, but Clarkie wasn't feeling up to it. He did get to work with one of his parents today thought, because Chuck had to work from home to care for the little guy. Daycare made us pick him up early yesterday because he had a fever, and since he'd been coughing and congested for a couple of weeks I decided to take him to the doctor. They weren't concerned with his fever, but the wheezing worried them. The doctor said it probably started as allergies but could definitely turn into pneumonia if not treated. She gave us a nebulizer and steroids to clear his lungs, Motrin for the fever, and recommended Zyrtec for the allergies. Poor guy!

He didn't mind the doctors office at all, but he hates the nebulizer. Chuck said he was cranky all day and cried a lot. He perked right up when Aurora and I got home, but it was pretty late by the time that happened. I picked her up from school and brought her directly to work, where we learned about how to help people who are sick, participated in a drum circle, played with friends and enjoyed snack time with the team.

After work, I brought her to happy hour! Our friends Laura & Bailey are both in town for the weekend and I'm so glad we were able to see them. We didn't get to talk long, but I miss them already.

Several people brought their kids to happy hour, so Aurora had friends to play with there as well. She and her little friend Lucy pretended they were waitresses and walked around the table asking everybody for their names and orders. Aurora laughed out loud when "Bobert" ordered octopus. From there it just got sillier and sillier.

It's been a long few days and I think we're all pretty exhausted. Amazingly, there is NOTHING on the calendar for this weekend, but I'm sure we'll find something fun to do in-between nebulizer treatments. Now, if only the kid's would sleep in tomorrow...

I think the take your kiddos to work for the day is a great idea. Glad to see Aurora enjoyed it, and hope Clarkie feels better asap.

Heard on the news that you had 2 FEET of RAIN today (Saturday) Hope things are ok where you folks are located. That is a lot of rain!
