Hamilton Pool Hike

Today's the first day of a 3-day weekend for the whole family. We headed out early for breakfast, but really didn't have anything planned. Chuck just decided to drive a direction we don't normally go, and we found ourselves headed to Hamilton Pool. Honestly, we were weren't really prepared for a nature hike, but it was too hot to play most places outdoors and kind of a perfect morning for a shady hike.

By not prepared, I mean Aurora and I were wearing sandals, and I hadn't brough the camera! Luckily, Chuck's iPhone made sure we didn't get lost and doubled as a camera. It actually took some pretty nice pics...

No big plans for the rest of the weekend, but who knows where we may end up!

Yes, that's the place we went to a few years back. How come there are no swimmers? Too early in the day? Sounds like an enjoyable day for the whold family.

I'm looking forward to our trip to Silver City, N.M. tomorrow. Will probably email some pictures when we get back home.

Swimming was not allowed today on account of bacteria levels.

Nancy, we did take you there a couple years back - it's a beautiful place! Julia, I wish we could take you to ALL the cool places in Austin (including Hamilton Pool) - but with the holiday, shopping, New Moon (!!!)... and only a few days together, we'll only be able to do so much :) I was thinking if it's not too cold we could do a duck tour! The babies will both be toddlers - it's going to be great - and exhuasting!!!

Shopping, New Moon and a duck tour sound great!! I am excited to have the babies together being the cutest toddler cousins ever! Did I tell you our new plan...Andrew is driving with Nancy and Steve and I am going to fly with the boys on Tuesday.

That sounds like a great plan. You and the kiddos can get here in just 2 hours (which will seem long enough), and Andrew can nap the whole way. I'll be able to pick you guys up from the airport whenever you come in, and I'll plan fun things for just us girls/kids to do until the rest of the family arrive! The only bad thing is that we have to wait 5 more months to enact this plan.

Seriuosly!! I am so excited and have to wait 5 months!! I am going to get the tickets soon and I will let you know our itinerary.

Duck tour? Sounds interesting. You know how we like ducks, LOL! Was that available when we were visiting?

Looks like you found a nice cooler place to escape the heat.

Perhaps Nancy can fly & let the boys do the driving, then she can spend some time with the girls, too.

Talked to Nancy yesterday in New Mexico. Sounds like they are enjoying their trip.

We uploaded some fireworks photos on Facebook. I guess Aurora will have to wait to see the big fireworks up close until she sees some with the Cheezheads, LOL!
